When gods and mortals collide… ‘The Irish Gods’ #Paranormal #EroticRomance #Series @ddehel @SDSXXTours

Gods and Mortals
The Irish Gods Book 1
by D.S. Dehel
Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance
Maeve Devlin has no idea what to expect when she travels to Ireland for a
vacation, but definitely not the supernatural or an old god obsessed
with her. What should be a fun time reconnecting with an old love
interest first turns thrilling, then confusing, when two men seem
interested in a fling. And what’s with all the birds?
But when The Man with eyes like the sea— the man she’s dreamed of her
entire life—appears, her life spirals out of control, and she’s
thrust into a world of gods and heroes, magic and love. When gods and
mortals collide, nothing goes well.
Gods and Mortals, the first book in the Irish Gods series, introduces us
to modern day Ireland, a place where the old and new exists side by
side, and the old gods mingle with mankind. It tells the tale of
Maeve Devlin and the man she was destined for, and the one god daring
to claim her for his very own.
God of the Sea
The Irish Gods Book 2
God of the Sea, book 2 in the Irish Gods series, tells the tale of Ellie
Selkirk―elementary school teacher, bartender, and one-time Seer.
She has left the world of gods and magic behind and settled into an
ordinary life. Gods are just too much trouble, and even worse,
they’re dangerous.
Her life—and summer vacation—is upended when she meets Gareth Keir,
front man for the band DeDanu and god of nothing. Intrigued by
Gareth, Ellie decides to see where this romance will go, thinking
it’ll amount to little more than a summer fling. Fate has other
plans, though, and when Gareth’s brother, Declan, stumbles into the
scene, injured and chased by Hunters, Ellie must decide how far she
is willing to go make the man she loves the god he is destined to be,
even if it means revisiting her own dark past.
Curse of the Gods
The Irish Gods Book 3
Amory Wright’s world is changing. Her son is off to college and her
husband, Steven, has accepted a new job that moves them to Dublin.
There, she begins to work for David Abernathy, owner of Love Spot.
It’s her first real job—outside of being mom—and she discovers
there’s more to herself than the country club veneer she has
cultivated in the past.
David sees this too, and his charm and good looks tempt her in ways she’s
never been tempted before. To make things worse, Amory suspects
Steven’s trips for work may be cover for yet another affair.
As her life spirals out of control, she discovers that the person she is
attracted to is more than a man: he’s the God of Sex, and he wants
her to see him for who he truly is. And maybe—just maybe—she can
break the centuries-old curse that haunts him to this day.
Goddess of the Dead
The Irish Gods Book 4
Fight for your destiny.
Mo Noonan’s life is falling apart. She’s failed out of grad school.
Her fiancé just dumped her in front of all her friends. Her mother
thinks she’s a failure.
And now she’s dead.
It’s hard making friends with the dead, especially when you’ve been murdered,
but Aedan Hanlon is willing to show Mo how to navigate the
Underworld, though he keeps going on and on about facing her Truth.
After spending time with Aedan, Mo begins to wonder, can the dead
fall in love?
And if they do, why does the Goddess of the Dead
have to mess everything up? Why can’t Mo and Aedan just rest in
peace?
D.S. Dehel is a lover of photography, good food, and the Oxford comma.
When she is not immersed in a book, she is mom to her kids and spoiling her rather
pampered feline, Mr. Darcy. She can also be found at the gym training
for her next Spartan race and generally avoiding all adult
responsibility. She adores literary allusions, writing sex scenes,
and British television. Her devoted husband is still convinced she
writes children’s books. Please don’t enlighten him.

Excerpt from For the Love of Max:

Procrastinating was getting him nowhere. She was either home or she wasn’t. She was either going to kick him off her property or she wasn’t. She was either going to let him in or she wasn’t.
Wiping his damp palms against his jeans, he sauntered up the steps and knocked.
The door cracked, but the safety chain prevented it from opening fully. He glimpsed a veil of long, black hair.
“Maxine?” She squinted. Damn. The sun behind him was bright in her eyes, casting him in deep shadows.
“It’s Dodge. Remember me? I brought you home after the company Christmas party?” After Garth got wasted and abandoned you? Happy to step in, Dodge had driven her home, trying not to look at her gorgeous legs encased by her tight silver skirt and sheer pantyhose. Red-blooded man he was, he’d adjusted himself when she looked away and had done his best to hide his erection when escorting her to the door.
“Wait.” Say something that’ll keep her talking.
“I—”
The door closed, opening a moment later.
Dodge was a sucker for sun-kissed light-brown skin, wavy long black hair, almond-shaped dark-brown eyes, soft cheekbones, and a pert nose. The bangs were new as was the yellowing bruise on her cheek.
Damn.
Ducking her head, Maxine’s hand shot to the bruise.
He gently touched her chin, and when she didn’t recoil, he tipped it, forcing her gaze to his. “The man is an animal. I’m not like him.”
The smile was tentative. “I know.” Soft words, replete with meaning.
Not going to send him away. Yet. But he needed more.
Maxine extended her hand, which he gratefully took. The electric shock shot through him, so strong he expected a blue arc between them.
Her cheeks flushed, her gaze flying to his before lowering. She tried to pull away, but he held tight.

Excerpt
I stared up
at Ethan as he asked me if I was okay, and knowing I stood on the brink of a
cliff, the bottom far from sight, I hesitated before nodding.
His hold on
my waist tightened as he squeezed, his smile flooding my heart. He glanced over
my head—at Damien behind me—and I wondered at the silent communication between
them.
Ethan
returned his focus to me, to my mouth and released one hand on my hip to slide
up to cradle the back of my head as Damien’s hand settled where his had vacated.
“Can I kiss you?”
Damien’s
touch singed through my capris, and I swallowed a rush of saliva as my heart
pounded in my ears. “Yes.”
I wondered
at my need to hurry, to rise to my tiptoes to close the distance between us,
but couldn’t help myself. I’d missed him, his touch more than I’d thought. The
softness, the gentle caress of his lips lightened my head and nearly caved my
chest in with the depletion of anxiety.
Zero doubt
I belonged to Ethan raged through my body, heightening my already racing pulse.
I grabbed hold of his head and sank into him as he slid his tongue into my
mouth, weakening my knees.
The brush
of Damien against my back raced fire over my skin, pebbling every inch, exposed
and beneath clothing. A shift of my hips pressed my ass against his thighs, and
he groaned as his hard length rubbed against my lower back.
Forget
fire—lava rushed through my veins, and I shuddered, pulling away from Ethan’s
mouth, gasping for breath. “I-I’ve never done this before,” I somehow managed
to say before trembling took over my body.
“We’ll take
things slow,” Ethan whispered, brushing my hair back from my face.
If that’s
what you want,” Damien added, the heat of his breath lifting the hairs on my
nape.
I bit back
a moan as he sandwiched me fully between the two men, tempting all thought to
flutter from my mind. My head tipped back onto Damien’s shoulder as I fought to
slow my pulse, to catch my breath. He leaned in and kissed Ethan right beside
my face.
Kissed
Ethan … inches from my face.
Both groaned,
and my core liquefied as I stared at their hungry mouths, tongues, and teeth,
appearing in flashes as they devoured one another, grinding against me as
though I was a conduit between their bodies.
All
strength left me, and I sagged between their hardness, my pussy pulsing, thighs
squeezing to ease the ache in my clit. I bit my lip at Ethan’s moan, his
surrender to Damien’s hold on his hair and control of the kiss.
I’d said I
hadn’t come to their condo for sex, but hell if I could think of anything else
at that moment.

An Excerpt from Bedazzled:

The chatter in the elevator lightened her mood immediately, reminding Keeli of all the people who had started with only a few dollars and a dream. In many cases, they had made it without knowing the language or customs of their adopted country. By comparison, she had many advantages and instantly felt better about her choice, more confident about moving forward on her own. Mr. Weinberg let her take many of her pieces with her when she left his employ. There had been no severance check, of course, but the ready inventory was a gift. Keeli let the renewed confidence surge through her body, standing straight and looking ahead. Watching her step, careful not to bump anyone with her parcel, Keeli stepped into the divide and moved toward the back.

That was the moment she saw HIM. He was the best thing – by far – about working in this building. She was standing face to face with the virile, gorgeous, sexy man she saw in the elevator regularly. Well, almost face-to-face since he was at least 4 or 5 inches taller than her statuesque 5’10”.

He was what she would miss most about this job – these random opportunities to ride the elevator and watch him, getting to stand close, allowing her imagination to run wild with fantasies – all starring him, of course.

Most of the time, he hid mysteriously behind a pair of Wayfarers, but the rain today afforded Keeli a chance to admire the intelligence and concentration in his azure eyes. He stood with his shoulders back, head towering over everyone’s Looking up, Keeli locked eyes with his, his mouth lifting in a half smile. Keeli shyly dropped her head as a blush rose to her cheeks and her heart sped up. She knew the smile was just politeness. She wanted so much more. She wanted him to notice her the way she noticed him, feel about her as she did about him.
If only he had the same visceral reaction that Keeli had to him, perhaps he would have spoken to her by now. She could not overcome her shyness to initiate a conversation, but if he longed for her as she did him…obviously, he was not interested. Now she would never see him again. Her disappointment was way out of proportion; he was a stranger. But he had this pull on her. Instead of thinking of him as a stranger, she thought of him as hers.
Hers. What a laugh. Wake up Keeli!

Everyone noticed him – man and woman alike. She saw it on elevator rides and when he traversed the lobby. Yes, he was particularly tall, a few inches over six feet. However, it was more than his height that drew the eye. He was compelling, confident, and assured. He was beyond handsome with his chiseled features, thick wavy hair and well-muscled body clad in custom suits. Keeli was drawn to him like a bee to honey. She had seen other women catch his eye, seen them smile and flirt easily. She was overwhelmingly shy when near him, preventing her from ever making him ‘hers’.

They crossed paths at the coffee kiosk or in the elevator at least once a week. She knew she was projecting her own desires, but sometimes it seemed to her that he was seeking her out. Even so, Keeli never exchanged more than a polite “hello” and he was always polite, but aloof. Although she longed for some reason to speak more than pleasantries, she was unable to move past that invisible barrier she felt between them.

Why, oh why is facing forward considered appropriate elevator etiquette? I just want to stare at him one last time. Today needs to be the day to think of something to say, some witty conversation opener. You are running out of time.

Her brain searched now for a reason to speak, knowing it was her last chance. Instead, she reluctantly turned to face the doors. He was standing so close, lazily leaning his shoulders against the back wall. She felt the warmth of his breath on the back of her neck, goosebumps traveling up her arms in response to the moist heat. She was rocked by her immediate, erotic reaction.

Reigning in her body’s response, Keeli reminded herself that the warm breath was a result of proximity, not desire. She was a non-entity to him and had been for the16 months she had worked there. His polished appearance, custom suits and elegant leather briefcase contrasted with her wild red hair, shabby jacket, scuffed boots and faded Old Navy dress. He epitomized class and privilege; she embodied shabby chic. Maybe not even chic – just shabby. She could never bridge the gulf.

“You’re wasting time. If we don’t get a move on, we’ll both be stuck out in this mess. Just leave it. No one’s going to mess with it.”

She hefted the bag and slammed the car door before she whirled on him. Snow and wind battered her face as she glared at him. “First of all, I didn’t ask for your assistance although I am grateful for it. Second, some of this equipment is worth more than my car so there’s no way I’m leaving it behind to freeze, and wind up losing my job. Third, what crawled up your ass today? Or any day, for that matter? Would it kill you to, I don’t know, not be a complete asshole?”

Spencer’s full mouth, framed by his black beard, firmed into a hard line and he glowered. The man made curling up with a mountain lion seem downright appealing.

“Depends on the day. Give me those and get your ass in the truck.” He didn’t ask, just reached out and removed the bags from her hands before he stomped up the embankment to his big black monster truck. Even trussed up as he was in his black parka, she could detect the power in him. It emanated from him, was an integral part of his essence. His confident strides were long and chock-full of determined purpose. His jeans carried a fine dusting of snow.

Meghan locked the car with her key fob, then slogged up the embankment behind him. In the last two hours at least another three inches of snow had fallen, blanketing the ground in a sea of white. If she remembered the weatherman’s forecast correctly, they were predicting over two feet. At least her hiking boots were suitable for snow and her thick parka insulated her well enough.

Spencer had already tossed her bags in the back seat and had the passenger door open for her when she stepped up beside him. Before she could comment on his rescue, needle him as was her fashion, his big hands gripped her waist. The simple touch acted like a lightning rod slashing her composure, making her slow to react. He lifted her up, shoved her inside, and dumped her rather curtly so that her butt plopped onto the leather bucket seat. The snarky—and most likely bitchy—remark stuck in her throat. Their gazes clashed and a jolt of unbidden desire razored through her system. It left her breathless and shaken. And, if anything, Spencer’s face hardened even further into a stern mask of disapproval, like he was in a competition with Mount Rushmore for whose face looked more like stone. With a scowl furrowing his black brows, Spencer retreated as if she’d burned him.

“Buckle up,” he commanded and slammed the door shut.

She curled her hands into fists, even as warmth from his heater spread through her. The man had the proclivity and seemed hellishly bent on driving her to physical violence. And why, oh why in the holy hell did her body respond to him the way it did? Every. Time. It was like sticking her finger in an electrical socket.

She didn’t even like the overbearing jerk. But tell that to her body and girly bits. They sure as hell didn’t see it that way. Her damn fool hormones would prefer she cozy up to him and give him carte blanche permission to do whatever naughty things he could cook up. Word around the sub club campfire was that the man knew how to cook… and then some.

He vaulted into the driver’s side seat without a word, shifted the vehicle into drive and steered the behemoth truck back onto the road. He was traveling in the opposite direction from Carter’s house. It was on the tip of her tongue to correct him but Spencer saved her the headache as he piloted the truck around snow drifts and over slick stretches of road where the pavement disappeared entirely beneath a blanket of snow. His wipers swished furiously on high, headlights and floodlights on to illuminate the path forward. Not that it did much good in the white out conditions. Visibility was at zero. They could see about ten feet in front of his truck and that was all.

He placed his phone to his ear. “Carter. I found her. Roads are too bad to make it out to your place tonight. I’ll take her to mine and she can weather the storm there. Yep, will do.”

His place? He was taking her to his place? They were going to be in the same location, alone, the two of them, without supervision? Would they survive the night without strangling each other?

Hey folks! Today I’m happy to introduce you to Nicola Cameron and her story Behind the Iron Cross!

~ * ~ BIO ~ * ~

Nicola Cameron is an expatriate Chicagoan who has lived in England, Canada, Holland, and Sweden, and keeps a confusing amalgamation of languages in her head as a result. Currently located in the clavicle of Texas, she has finally mastered the proper use of “y’all,” much to her Chicago family’s dismay.

Despite a healthy interest in romance since puberty, it wasn’t until 2012 that Nicola decided to try writing about it. As it turned out, the skills she picked up during her SF writing career transferred rather nicely to romance. When not writing, she wrangles cats, smooches her husband, makes dolls of dubious and questionable identity, and thanks almighty Cthulhu that she doesn’t have to work for a major telecommunications company any more (because there’s BDSM, and then there’s just plain torture…).

~ * ~ ABOUT THE BOOK ~ * ~

Hello, and thanks so much for having me on today! While Behind the Iron Cross is my tenth romance novel to be published, it was actually the first one I ever wrote. I started it in 2012, picking at it in fits and starts while working on my other books, and finally finished it in 2018. In hindsight this is a good thing because I needed some serious novel writing chops, far more than I had in 2012, to pull this story off properly. The experience I’ve gained in the last six years is what made this book possible, and I’m very happy that it’s now available to readers.

Also, it means that my editor will stop nagging me to finish it. (Love you, Theresa!)

In the hedonistic wonderland of Cabaret-era Berlin…

…where money can buy you anything you desire…

…and love comes with a pink rose and a practiced smile…

The year is 1923, the Great War is over, and Berlin has become the manic playground of Europe’s elite. Against a glittering background of nightclubs and hot jazz, a sensual American heiress, a wounded playboy, and a desperate German army officer forge a decadent pact of pleasure. But their nights of uninhibited passion soon lead to a forbidden emotional connection, one that will threaten their future … and their lives.

~ * ~ EXCERPT ~ * ~

Kat followed her men, feeling incredibly relaxed and happy. All of her worries about Schoengraff, the wedding, and her future at Tracy Electric felt like they had been trapped behind a thick, clear wall. She knew they were still there, of course, but they didn’t plague her at all.

And seeing both Friedrich and Sam’s trousers bulging from the kissing and canoodling in the hubble-bubble den was doing wonderful things to her own desire. As soon as the car started moving Sam fell on the colonel like a hungry beast, mashing their mouths together and driving his tongue between Friedrich’s lips. His hand snaked down, cupping the German’s undoubtedly aching cock and squeezing it.

It seemed only right to join in. She leaned closer to Friedrich, pressing her breast against his arm as she nibbled and sucked on his earlobe, whispering filthy things into his ear. He gave Sam a last kiss and turned to her, groaning as she undid a button on his shirt and slid her fingers inside to caress the skin there.

Sam moved back in, biting at Friedrich’s neck then soothing the sting with a lick. A fleeting thought crossed Kat’s mind, a wish to have both of her beautiful men naked and in bed with her. All three of them creating a tangle of bodies and limbs, so close that no one could tell where one ended and another began, and to hell if it shocked all of Bridgeport and its stuffy, stodgy society.

At some point the car stopped and the door opened, Horst looming in the opening. The next thing Kat knew they were up in the suite. How, she had no idea, but she was absolutely delighted by it. She led her men into her bedroom, kicking off her shoes as she went.

Laughing, Friedrich fell on Sam, pushing him into the bed and kissing him greedily, opening his mouth to the American’s. “You feel so good,” he said softly, dropping soft kisses over the other man’s chin, cheeks, nose. “Why do you feel so damned good?”

“I don’t know, but I’m glad I do,” Sam murmured. “You feel even better, angel.”

“Mmm.” Friedrich writhed, rubbing against Sam’s lean body. “Too many clothes.”

“I can help with that,” Kat said. She started unbuttoning his shirt, laughing as her fingers fumbled on the tiny mother of pearl discs.

Friedrich stared up at her, naked adoration on his face. He lifted a hand, brushing her cheek with a tender finger that sent shivers down her spine. “You’re so beautiful, Kätzchen. So strong, like a goddess.”

Kätzchen—kitten. Tonight, she would accept that once-hated nickname, especially since he finished up by calling her a goddess. “Clothes, colonel. Let’s get you out of them.”

She quickly stripped him, leaving him naked and gorgeous on the fine sheets while Sam fumbled with his own clothes. Friedrich looked down at his magnificent cock, already hard and pearling a drop of pleasure at the tip, and laughed at it. Sam joined in, and Kat followed. Everything felt wonderful.

The men rolled into each other’s arms and started kissing again, hands roaming muscular bodies and caressing, squeezing, stroking as she watched. It was wickedly delicious, the sight of these two beautiful creatures pleasuring each other. She stripped slowly, reveling in the heightened sensation of her skin as it was exposed to the room’s cool air. She dropped her chemise, then her corselet to the carpet, peeling off the fine silk stockings last and draping them around her neck like a stole. They caught on the chain there. Mustn’t snag the stockings. There were things she could do with them, wonderfully dark and heady things.

She unhooked the chain and tossed it and the key onto the bedside table. Crawling onto the bed, she gently pushed Friedrich onto his back and away from Sam, slithering down into his arms. “My turn,” she purred.

His eyes were thin rings of blue around wide black centers, the eyes of a child on Christmas morning who had just seem the mountain of presents awaiting him. “So beautiful. You’re so beautiful.”

She stroked his cheek, feeling the fine prickle of his beard. “So are you, my colonel. The most beautiful man, isn’t he, Sam?”

“Oh, yes,” Sam said thickly, kissing his way down Friedrich’s chest. “Absolutely gorgeous.”

She wanted to kiss Friedrich again, taste his mouth, feel his tongue dancing slickly around hers as they shared breath and heat. A faint voice in the back of her head murmured something in a warning tone, something about discipline and too much indulgence. She didn’t care. She wanted this beautiful man, and she was going to have him.

Kate arched her back, pressing a lace-encased breast against his hand. “I seem to remember you saying something about SEALs only needing one hand for bra hooks. Want to prove it?”

Jack’s grin could only be called predatory. He slid a hand under her spine, the pressure of her bra band easing as he undid the hooks. “Less than five seconds,” he said smugly. “That’s a new personal best.”

“I’m impressed.”

He rested his hand on her ribcage, thumb and index finger cupping the underside of her breast. “Oh, trust me, I can do more than that.” Bending down, he took the fabric of her bra in his teeth and tugged it loose, exposing her. “Woof,” he mumbled through the material before spitting it over the side of the bed.

She chortled. “You animal.”

“Guilty as charged. God, you’re gorgeous.”

Leaning down again, he ran the tip of his tongue over one dark pink peak, delicately flicking it. It hardened, the pleasure arrowing between her legs and making her inner muscles clench. “Ooooh.”

“You liked that?”

“Oh, yeah. Do it again.”

He did, licking and suckling while his fingers teased the other nipple, rolling it before giving it a soft pinch. She melted into a happy puddle under his talented attentions, feeling his own arousal growing as the ridge in his jeans pressed against her lower thigh. Sliding her fingers into his hair, she gently scratched his scalp before slipping down further and touching his ears. She heard/felt the rumble of pleasure as she ran a fingertip over the curve of one ear. “These are so cute. I bet your team nickname was Wolfman.”

He He let a nipple pop out of his mouth, the air cooling it quickly. “No bet. They’re round, but the cartilage never folded over completely so they look pointed from some angles.”

He She repeated her caress and was rewarded with a soft hiss. “They’re also sensitive.”

He “Yeah, they are—Kate.” Her name ended on a gasp as she traced the edge of the soft cartilage. “Baby, you keep doing that and I won’t be responsible for what happens.”

He “So don’t be. Give it all to me. I want it.”

He He leaned up, capturing her mouth in another of those lush, greedy kisses. “I’ll give it to you, everything you want,” he said against her lips. “But let me enjoy this, okay? I’ve been dreaming of you since the day I saw you.”
She made a wordless noise of agreement. He returned to her breasts, giving both her nipples the slightest teasing bite before kissing his way down her stomach, her navel, until he reached the waistband of her jeans. “Permission to take these off, ma’am?”

He She stroked his hair again, enjoying the softness of it. “Granted.”

He He made quick work of the button and fly zipper, sliding the tight denim down and stripping it off her legs. She was grateful she’d worn the matching panties to the bra, a pretty bikini style with lace around the edges. He sat back on his knees, licking his lips. “Fuck. Blue lace. That’s my favorite, baby.”

He She shifted one leg, opening her thighs in unmistakable invitation. “You haven’t even seen the best bit yet.”

He Even in the room’s dim light his smile glowed. “Anyone ever tell you you’re a cocktease, Ms. Chandler?”

He “Mm, it may have been mentioned once or twice.”

He He slid his fingers under the blue satin, sending a shiver of anticipation across her hips as he slowly pulled her panties down, tossing them to the floor alongside her bra and jeans. The coolness of the air chilled the hot, damp flesh between her legs, and she sucked in a shuddering breath when he ran his fingertips over her outer lips. Bringing his hand up, he sniffed it with delight. “Oh, yeah. You smell so good.”

He In any other situation the reminder of her disability would sting, but now all she could feel was a wriggling sort of glee. “What do I smell like?”

He He inhaled her essence on his fingers again. “Like salt mixed with something tangy and sweet. I’ll be honest, it’s making my mouth water.”

He She rubbed her foot along his side. “Well, if it smells that good…”

He Growling softly, he slid down between her thighs, wedging them open with his shoulders.

BIO

Nicola Cameron is a married woman of a certain age who really likes writing about science fiction, fantasy, and sex. When not writing about those things, she likes to make Stuff™. And she may be rather fond of absinthe.

While possessing a healthy interest in romance since puberty, it wasn’t until 2012 that she decided to write about it. The skills picked up during her SF writing career transferred quite nicely to speculative romance. Her To Be Written work queue currently stands at around nineteen books, and her mojito-sodden Muse swans in from Bali every so often to add to the list, cackling to herself all the while.

Nicola plans to continue writing until she drops dead over her keyboard or makes enough money to buy a private island and hire Rory McCann as her personal trainer/masseur, whichever comes first.
